Research On Writing Quality Analysis And Promotion Of English Abstract Of Master's Degree Thesis In Physical Education

In the complex ocean of essay,the abstract of the paper seems to be much more important while quickly checking the relevant researches that are needed.The abstract includes both Chinese and English abstracts in which English abstract plays a vital importance in International Academic Exchanges.However,there remains quite a lot issues in writing of English abstracts for postgraduates majoring in physical education in Shanxi Province.This study took 200 Chinese and English abstracts with many issues in master's papers of physical education in Shanxi Province from 2015 to 2019 as analysis objects,took writing quality analysis and improvement strategy of master's papers of physical education in Shanxi Province as research objects,and took two hundred postgraduates of physical education of Shanxi Province as respondents,utilizing the method of literature review,mathematical statistics and so forth,together with translation strategies and techniques of scientific English to analyze the writing quality of English abstracts of full-time masters' of Shanxi sports subjects for last 5 years,and extracting the issues in the writing of the abstracts of master's degree thesis.It was embodied at the level of grammar,vocabulary,syntactic structure and discourse,specifically reflected in the next few aspects:(1)Tense(79.50%),voice(51.50%),compound sentences(69.50%)were not used correctly;(2)Improper letter case(58.50%);(3)The translation of professional terms were not accurate(60.50%);(4)The content were too complicated(73.50%);(5)English abstracts were mostly in the form of literal translation(87.00%);(6)Couldn't flexibly use free translation and omission(73.00%);(7)Some of the English abstracts were mistranslated due to incomplete Chinese abstracts(80.50%);(8)The English abstracts were difficult to read on account of its low logic(78.50%);(9)The writing specifications of master's thesis abstract were not clear(46.50%).Based on the results obtained and the typical case studies,this study provided feasible strategies on improving the writing quality of the English abstract of full-time postgraduates and promoted the international academic exchange of physical education dissertation.Research conclusions: Aiming at the existing issues,this paper would come up with some strategies to enhance the writing quality of master's thesis abstract:(1)From the personality aspect:the master of physical education should constantly improve their English ability and pay more attention to the English abstract of the dissertation;(2)From the cultivation link: Reasonably arrange the proportion of English teaching between general and professional English;(3)From the cultivation system: publish English abstract writing guide and attach importance to the English abstract writing standard.
