Traditional festivals of ethnic minorities are the cultural ceremony and symbol system formed in the long history of human development,and it not only reflects rich national cultural connotation,but also constructs the unique cultural memory of a nation,thus deserving to be an important folk symbol that forms national cultural identity.With the advent of modern society,ethnic festivals rooted in traditional farming civilization or nomadic civilization have gradually been separated from the production and life of ethnic minority people.In the wave of consumerism,they have lost their original cultural significance and value.It is an important consensus brought by the theory related to the spatial turn of communication that space has media properties.Based on the different human geography of the mountains in the south and grasslands in the north of China,the traditional festivals of ethnic minorities represented by " Tujia Nationality Girls' Festival " and Mongolian people's "Naadam" also present different spatial communication characteristics,and have formed different communication route choices in the modern media society at the same time.This thesis takes " Tujia Nationality Girls' Festival " and "Naadam" as two comparative research object,using the origin of the festival as a field to investigate the changes of the Tujia and Mongolian festival cultural spaces.The thesis tries to explore the new modern communicating path of minority traditional festivals by doing interdisciplinary research among multiple subject of anthropology,sociology,communication.The thesis is divided into five chapters.The introduction part makes a simple review of the core concepts,literature review and research methods,which is the basis for the research and analysis of the paper.The first chapter explains the meaning of traditional festivals of ethnic minorities from three aspects: cultural memory,cultural confidence and cultural consciousness.Based on the theory of cultural space,in the second and third chapters,the changes of cultural space of "Tujia Nationality Girls' Festival " and "Naadam " are systematically analyzed respectively,in the meanwhile,field surveys are conducted in Enshi and xilinhote respectively to analyze the influence of cultural space changes on the inheritance of "Tujia Nationality Girls' Festival " and "Naadam".The fourth chapter analyzes the protection and inheritance of traditional festivals of ethnic minorities from the perspective of communication,trying to find the suitable culture soil for the traditional festival culture of ethnic minorities,which is of great significance to explore the internal logic of the modern communication path of traditional festivals of ethnic minorities.
