In recent years,more and more excellent national orchestral works have been published,among which the works created by the young composer Jiang Ying are particularly outstanding.Jiang Ying is a young contemporary composer who devotes herself to the exploration and innovation of folk music.She learned Pipa at 7-year-old,then transferred to study composition,after graduating from Shanghai Conservatory of Music with a master's degree in 2010,she was resident composer of Shanghai National Orchestra,she was transferred to the Central National Orchestra as resident composer in 2013 and resident composer of China Symphony Orchestra in 2018.Her main works include chamber music Silk road and New Dunhuang,large-scale ethnic orchestral music The Silk road and Fuchun map,the strumming ensemble Dragon totem,and Taiji by Pipa and the band,large folk operas Impression · national music,See national music again,and large folk orchestra Xuanzang's westing and etc.Her representative ethnic orchestral work The Silk road has become one of the most popular classical works performed by Chinese orchestras at home and abroad.Jiang Ying's works have won many awards in domestic and foreign competitions and been performed in many countries and regions,among them,The Silk road won the silver prize(gold vacancy)in the second national works competition of National Orchestral Music Association in 2010;In 2014,she won the first prize of the 18 th National Music Works(folk music)and the gold medal of the 3rd National Orchestral Works Competition for young composers of the National Orchestral Music Association.This paper takes Jiang Ying's national orchestral work The Silk road as the research object.The reason why the young composer Jiang Ying and her works are chosen as the main research object is that her works have an obvious style,in The Silk road,ethnic elements are used in many aspects,in terms of melody and rhythm,scales and rhythms of Xinjiang region and Arab style are extensively adopted,which have a unique melody charm,this is one of the important reasons for its success;In terms of instrumentation,the composer is different from the conventional instrument method in that all the parts are “singing” and the parts of each instrument are endowed with vitality,in order to imitate the timbre of other ethnic instruments,the role of the instrument itself is also brought into full play;In terms of mode and scale,Phrygian Major,Doric scale and the mixing of Xinjiang Uygur muqam seventh order and middle eastern Persian scale are adopted,which gives the work a mysterious eastern atmosphere.It is the use of these elements that makes The Silk road so popular.In this paper,the author will divide the works into three chapters to analyze,the first chapter mainly introduces the composer and his main works and achievements,in addition,the author expounds its creation background;The second chapter analyzes its musical form,including the tonality,harmonic structure and texture writing of the work,also further analyzes and summarizes its artistic features;The third chapter summarizes its artistic value from its influence on contemporary national orchestral works,and then makes an in-depth analysis of its social significance.The success of The Silk road,a Chinese orchestral composition by composer Jiang Ying,which has won the favor of orchestras and audiences at home and abroad in many excellent works,is worth our exploration and reference.In this paper,the author will conduct a comprehensive analysis and research on The Silk road,an excellent national orchestral work,deeply dig into the composer's ideas and spiritual process during creation,also discover and carry forward its artistic value in the national orchestral music and even the music industry.
