A Study On Chen Jingrong's Poetry Translation

In previous studies,Chen Jingrong often entered the narrative territory of literary history as one of the Jiuye poets.Her writing style has been discussed again and again,but the poems she translated are seldom included in the field of study.In fact,Chen Jingrong's poetry translation is not only a practice that contains valuable experience,but also an important cultural phenomenon in the history of Chinese new poetry,from which the subtle interaction between translator's subjectivity and mainstream discourse can be seen.The introduction part of the paper briefly describes the life experience of Chen Jingrong,sorts out the current situation of related research in the academic circles at home and abroad,and expounds the research problems,methods and significance of this paper.The main part consists of three chapters.The first chapter takes Chen Jingrong's poetry translation practice in the 1940 s,the 17-year-period and the 1980 s as the research object.Based on the analysis of historical materials,it explores the relationship between her text selection,translation strategies,cultural and historical contexts in different periods,and summarizes her translation theories.The second chapter,based on the analysis of Chen Jingrong's translated texts of poems,deeply explores the characteristics of Chen Jingrong's poetry translation,which is mainly manifested as the communication of melancholy sentiment,the grasp of internal rhythm and the mark of the discourse of era.The third chapter focuses on the interactive relationship between Chen Jingrong's poetry translation and creation,and compares the two types of poems she created--urban poetry and object-chanting poetry--with the poems she translated from Baudelaire and Rilke.The conclusion part illustrates the main conclusions of this paper and reveal the value and influence of Chen Jingrong's poetry translation.Based on the overall investigation of Chen Jingrong's poetry translation practice,this paper hopes that scholars can re-examine Chen Jingrong's poetry translation and conduct more mature discussions.
