Chen-Jingrong is one of important poetess in Nine- Leaves School of poetry, as well as an excellent translator and essay writer. However, due to various reasons, the scholars have not pay ample attention to her creative work for a long time, and the value of her creative work has not been fully appraised. In the area of the modern literary research, this is, more or less, a regrettable fact.This dissertation, based on the relative research and on the poetess' own creative work of each period, attempts to investigate the themes and artistic features of Chen Jingrongs' poetry in a systematic way. In this investigation We wish to explore the value of her entire poetry. The dissertation consists of five parts.The introduction mainly discusses the present condition of the research on Chen Jingrong's poetry and gives an explanation on the topic of the dissertation; Chapter One gives brief account on Chen's creative course and differentiates her creative course in several stages; Chapter Two makes a concrete analysis of the content of Chen Jingrong's poetry, on the basis of the texts; starting with the relationship between Chen's poetry and modernist poetry, as well as female writing styles, Chapter Three focuses on the unique features in Chen Jingrong's poetry; the Conclusion is a general comment on the position and value of Chen's poetry in the history of modern literature.
