Imagery Construction And The Personality Description In Chen Jingrong’s Poetry

Chen Jingrong, as one of the "Jiuye Poets Group " (1917-1989), is also called the most outstanding lyrical female poet by Tang Shi. For a long time, Chen Jingrong has not been studied extensively and deeply. Most of the studies on her has focused on the micro poetry review or macro overview. To conduct a comprehensive study of the imagery construction and the personality description of Chen Jingrong, the article starts with the poet’s personality spirit, combines its poems, goes deep into the skin texture of the poetry and explores the mutual relationship between the poet’s personality and the poetry style.The introduction chapter summarizes the research status of Chen Jingrong’s poetry and her poetry theory, and illustrates the reason, the purpose and the significance of the topic. This research has the important significance on the study of imagery construction and the personality description in Chen Jingrong’s poetry.The first chapter focuses on the analysis and investigation on the poet’s inner life difficult caused by the living environment. It analyzes and interpretates that how the poet’s personality transformed from the "experience" to self-consciousness and also points out the picture of the personality spirit in her childhood period, which shows how the resolute character generated and played a part in her personality spirit.The second chapter explores how the poet’s personality ideal is built up in her self-improvement and self-denial. It combines the poet’s life and the time background to study that, as a woman, how the poet got rid of poetry common style under the framework of intellectual history and how she got into the common space in 1940s. How its moral passion is "incorporated" by the political theology (passion or modernism) in the big time and how the lyric heroes of the poetry is forcibly imagined as the fragments in the community (Jiuye Poets Group).The third chapter trys to explain how the personality factor in Chen Jingrong’s poetry achieved unity on the dimension "poetry" and "person". That is to say, how the poet transformed from the gaze of the imagery to the imagery itself and from sadness of saying goodbye to the childhood period to the modern city people’s anxiety and distress. There are both deep and delicate feeling women have and the broad and powerful feeling men can feel.Peroration chapter makes an overall evaluation of Chen Jingrong, pointing out that the "free" personality traits are implied through Chen Jingrong’s"eager", which is the real inner motivation of "creativeness".
