In the writing of Chengdu in the 1930 s,Li Jieren's Torrential Trilogy and Ba Jin's River Trilogy have obvious different styles. Two writer's works of Chengdu present different spatial characteristics. In view of this phenomenon, this thesis focus on what kind of “Chengdu”space the authors had created, and how “Chengdu”space had been shaped by the authors. In addition, attention to differences in the thesis can evolve with discovery and discussion of new problems or not.Above questions are worth discussing, the thesis consists of four chapters around the issue of appeal. In the first chapter,Space theory applies to comparing the two story texts from three aspects: geography, culture, emotional psychology, and power will. The spatial differences and their respective characteristics created by the writers are discussed deeply, and the narrative strategy and emotional will behind the writing are expounded accordingly. In the second and third chapters, the characters and historical narratives are used as two dimensions to explore the characteristics of the typical characters and historical forms created by the two series of works. In the discussion of regional literature as the starting point,we always pay attention to the differences between Ba Jin and Li Jieren in shaping, which points to the dialogue and confrontation between the Enlightenment position and the historical position. The discussion and analyses in the thesis help to further clarify the misunderstanding of Enlightenment literature on Chinese Enlightenment, explain the erroneous circular interpretation between literature and movement, and reveal the instrumental thinking of "ritual education".The Torrential Trilogy constitutes an important node of Ba Jin's novel style change and provides an important breakthrough for the overall interpretation of the writer's thoughts.Li Jieren's portrayal of "history" and "region" in the River Trilogy also provides abundant literary resources for literary history. The two classical texts both have profound significance in the 20 th century's novels.
