Liu Cixin is a representative writer of contemporary Chinese science fiction in China.Since 1999,he has begun to write science fiction literature."The Three Body Problem"has attracted the attention of Chinese science fiction circles ever since its publication in 2008,after which "The Three Body Problem II "and "The Three Body Problem III "has become an upsurge one after the other. After the English version of "The Three Body Problem"winning the 2015 Hugo Award,Liu Cixin has exerted an increasing influence on Chinese science fiction.Liu Cixin's fiction is known as "hard science fiction"with rigorous scientific knowledge as the foundation of all illusions,he integrates the real world and imagination space perfectly, and his works are unique. The trilogy of "The Three Body Problem"is widely regarded as a milestone in Chinese science fiction. The thesis is based on careful reading of the text, using both domestic and international spatial narrative theories to discuss the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem"from many aspects, for example, the spatial form of narrative, the specific space created in the story and the time and space of the narrative, etc.Taking a deeper look at the ethical issues that arise on the path to the end of the earth,it also discusses how Liu Cixin make contemporary writers further the construction and exploration of future thought and culture through science fiction novel that was once marginalized and popularized.According to the spatial theory model constructed by Gabriel Zoran in his article "Towards a Theory of Space in Narrative”,this thesis will analyze the three levels of the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem": text space, specific space and Chronotope. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this thesis includes three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the theoretical source of the spatial form in the novel narration and the spatial form in the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem"from the text level.Combining the specific text of the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem”,this chapter will explore the unique space structure and plot that the author creates, which bases on the induced nested structure and theme--juxtaposition of narrative structure and the fractal structure of three forms of space mode in Long Diyong's spatial narrative theory. From the specific space angel of the narrative, the second chapter mainly discusses the relationship between the emergence of a novel space and characters in the novel. This chapter is divided into two sections. The first section analyzes the characterization in the novel narrative space character, and it discusses from two aspects--the first of a space on the creation of characters, the space conflict on characters. From the view of appearance of alienation of human after dramatic change in human living space in the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem”,the second session further explores the impact of a space transformation on ethics of human. The third chapter will focus on the study of space-time relationship in the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem”,and the author will analyze the dialectical relationship between space and time in the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem"from three angles--space dimension, time dimension and the relationship of space-time,in that everything must have two aspects--time and space, time or space alone could not exist in any the narrative works. With the help of Bakhtin's theory of Chronotope, this chapter discusses the conflict and mutual transformation between time and space in the trilogy of "The Three Body Problem”,and the importance of "time and space" in fiction narration,so as to explore the unique charm of space time narration in science fiction.
