The informationization of social life and the globalization of economy make English increasingly prominent,especially the ability of oral English expression.How to improve college students' oral English ability has always been the focus and difficulty of English teaching,which urgently requires people to study in a new and all-round way.In order to train and improve students' oral English ability,the author's College(Guilin University of Technology)used FIF Oral English Training APP to enable students to strengthen their English learning at anytime and anywhere.On the basis of previous studies,the author tries to explore whether mobile learning platform has a positive effect or not on students' oral English learning by combining her own interest and practical experiences.In this study,15 students in the innovation class of water supply and drainage science and engineering of Guilin University of Technology in 2017 were selected as the subjects.The experiment was conducted for one semester by using the combination methods of recording test and interview analysis.The recording test method is mainly to record two English oral tests before and after experiment of 15 subjects.The method of interview analysis mainly summarizes the shortcomings of FIF platform by interviewing the problems encountered by students in the process of using FIF platform,and combines the suggestions given by students to analyze how to improve the FIF platform.This paper mainly studies three questions:(1)To what extent does FIF platform improve the accuracy of students' oral English?(2)To what extent does FIF platform facilitate the fluency of students' oral English?(3)To what extent does FIF platform enhance the complexity of students' oral English? In view of the above research problems,after one semester of empirical research,the author uses SPSS to scientifically analyze the experimental data and draws the following conclusions: statistics show the significant values of accuracy and fluency of oral English are 0.00(less than 0.05),which indicates that the results are significant.It further means that the accuracy and fluency of students' oral English have been significantly improved after the experiment.However,the significant value of oral English complexity is 0.81(more than 0.05)which shows that the result is not significant,indicating that students' oral English complexity has not improved significantly.The reason for this result is that the FIF platform provides a large number of exercises in pronunciation,grammar,phrases and sentences,and strengthens students' pragmatic competence,thus improving the accuracy and fluency of students' oral English.However,the improvement of oral English complexity is a long and slow process,and students dare not venture to use complex sentences in order to ensure accuracy.In view of the above research results,this study puts forward suggestions from three aspects: teachers' oral English teaching,students' oral English learning and the improvement of FIF platform.(1)Teachers should be student-centered,and the tasks they posted on the mobile learning platform should be moderately difficult,novel and interesting to meet the students' needs.(2)Students should make full use of the learning resources on the mobile learning platform and give full play to the role of autonomous learning to improve their oral English ability.(3)The scoring and feedback system of FIF mobile learning platform need to be perfected,and the retelling and self-play part should be added appropriately.
