Wu Zi,a well-known calligrapher and artist in seal cutting in the middle and late periode of Qing Dynasty,made very useful for other artists in his time his seal cutting with distinctive feature of art following that of Deng School characteristic of blending calligraphy with seal cutting,of being robust and graceful and of expatriate printing.Besides,it was of epochal character to extend sacrificial vessels in Shang and Zhou Dynasty into bronze scripts in the East and West Han Dynasty and seals in ancient bronze mirror inscription.Specially,his great contribution to seals in inscriptions of bronze was made via an ingenious combination of seal arrangements,use of dictions and carving skills.Recently,inspired by his style,insight and initiative spirit with regard to seal cutting,I make my creation mainly through application of his style and the outlook on artistic styles in the future. |
