A Study Of Chinese-english Tourism Texts Translation From The Perspective Of Eco-translatology

With the rapid development of the economy and the rise of the citizens' consuming capacity,the tourist destinations are not confined in domestic areas.The overseas tour is becoming more and more popular.More and more people are eager to go abroad to experience the culture of other countries so as to enrich their spiritual world and broaden their horizon.Therefore,the high quality of translated tourism texts and the standardization of translation are of great significance.And it's well known that Mount Wuyi in Fujian Province is endowed with the honor of “the most miraculous and graceful in southeastern China”.Undoubtedly,Mount Wuyi scenic spot is extremely attractive to foreign tourists.As is well-known that Eco-translatology theory is a rising and new theory in the field of translation.Though Eco-translatology is a burgeoning theory,the constructed structure of it has been mature.Meanwhile,there are plenty of overlaps between the functions of tourism texts and the purpose of Eco-translatology.Therefore,the author takes the Eco-translatology as the theoretical basis and the Mount Wuyi introduction texts as research materials and aims in exploring the applicability of Eco-translatology in tourism texts translation and standardization of Mount Wuyi introduction texts.This thesis elaborates a large number of introduction examples of Mount Wuyi tourism texts and finds out 1)maintaining the harmonious balance of “three ecologies” is quite important during the translation process.2)The translator's multi-dimensional transformation between the original and target text demonstrates their adaptive selection to translation.3)The translator's responsibilities shall be highly stressed so as to guarantee the translation quality.The main research methods include induction,example illustration and the comparative study so as to make a comparison between the original translation and revised translation.Moreover,with a hope that the thesis will provide some references for the similar researches,the study demonstrates how to employ the translation principles in tourism texts translation.To sum up,this thesis attempts to explore the applicability of Eco-translatology in tourism texts translation based on the analysis of Mount Wuyi introduction texts.
