In the last decade,eco-translatology,as a new localized translation theory, has attracted attentions of many scholars. Its core viewpoints,including“translator-centeredness”,“the approach of translation as adaptation and selection”and “three-dimensional transformation”,have become new perspectives and are widely applied to translation studies. With rapid development of the digital information age, tourism websites of famous tourist attractions have been gradually established, which is more convenient for tourists. However, according to the investigation, some problems of tourism websites still exist, such as untimely updates, word redundancy and default. These issues have seriously influenced on functions of tourism websites that should be performed, and even the development of tourism industry.Under the guidance of eco-translatology theory, the author selects six famous bilingual website texts of national 5A tourist attractions as research objects and comparatively analyzes Chinese-English translation process of introductory texts about scenic spots through the qualitative research method. It is shown that in processes of selective adaptation and adaptive selection,eco-translatology theory plays an important role in C-E translation of tourist website texts.During the whole eco-translational process, translators also take an irreplaceable place. On the one hand, they make selective adaptations to linguistic features from the micro perspective. They also selectively adapt to cultural information conveyed in the source text as well as readers of the target text from the macro one.On the other hand, they make adaptive selections from three perspectives, which are language, culture, and communication. It helps to realize functions of tourist website texts and improve the quality of tourism services further. In addition,it can be found that some explicit and implicit problems still exist.Compared with explicit issues, implicit ones have had a more severe and profound effect on C-E translation of tourist websites texts. In order to deal with theseproblems properly in this thesis, translators can adopt methods based on three-dimensional transformation through comparatively analyzing several bilingual tourism online texts.Specifically,it can be summarized as follows:Firstly,in terms of language, translators can combine simplification with free translation to deal with some problems such as word redundancy and default. It aims at making texts more concise and correct so as to perform the depictive function of online texts.Secondly,in respect of culture, translators can adopt methods of paraphrasing and back translation to solve problems on necessary cultural information that is lacking or even wrong. It is beneficial to convey effective cultural information and perform the expressive function of tourism website texts.Thirdly, based on the communicative dimension, taking readers' thinking habits into consideration, translators can apply some reader-oriented approaches like borrowing and imitation to C-E translation of tourism website texts so as to perform the persuasive function better. In general, this study based on eco-translatology helps to deal with current problems existed in C-E translation of online tourism texts and to provide a reference for building and improving bilingual tourism websites.
