The Research On The Change Of Wu Sangui's Image

Wu Sangui was one of the important historical figures during the Ming and Qing dynasties and profoundly affected the historical process at that time.The complicated and controversial experience of his life has made the understanding and image of Wu Sangui complex and changeable in different periods.This article selects the three typical stages of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the Qianlong period,and the war of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period,focusing on the process of the formation and spread of Wu Sangui's image,and the political and cultural implications behind the images.During the Ming and Qing Dynasties,Wu Sangui's political choices and actions profoundly influenced the historical trend of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The political forces involved in this period formed contradictory,complex and diverse Wu Sangui writings based on their own political interests and writing motives,such as the narration of asking for military to revenge,the narration of asking for the military causing the fall of the country,and the narration of surrendering to Li Zicheng,constituting diversified images of Wu Sangui.In the Qianlong period,the Emperor Qianlong ordered the compiling of the official political history text Biography of Rebellious Officials to deal with the unfaithful image of Wu Sangui,forming an official text that complied with the political interests of the Qing Dynasty and commended loyalty.This kind of official writing had shaped Wu Sangui's "rebellious" image into a mainstream social memory and had a profound impact on future generations.During the war of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,ethnic contradictions were extremely prominent.Wu Sangui's "traitor" image was used as a historical resource to criticize traitors in reality,arousing the attention of all walks of life.This common traitor memory is integrated with scholars' research,reflected in general history writings in varying degrees.Through the analysis of the typical images of Wu Sangui in the three stages of Ming and Qing Dynasty,Qianlong period and the war of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period,this paper further discusses the interaction between discourse knowledge and political demands,discourse knowledge and power,and tries to restore the true face of the image of Wu Sangui.At the same time,from the perspective of historical history,taking the image change of Wu Sangui as a case study,this paper analyzes the interaction between historians and the times.From the perspective of knowledge and power,this study investigates how historical knowledge is shaped by power,exploring the shaping effect of politicized texts on the memory of the times,analyzing various elements that affect the writing of historical books.
