A Comparative Study Of The Iconicity Of The Syntactic Structure Of Chinese And Uygur Proverbs

Starting with the iconicity of cognitive linguistics in recent years,this article illustrates the relationship between linguistics units and conceptual thinking through analyzing the iconicity phenomenon existing in Chinese proverbs and Uyghur language proverbs.And then,this article also explains the relationship between language and thinking existing in Chinese proverbs and Uyghur language proverbs,and elaborates that different language units are cognition and reflection to the objective world of the Han nationality and the Uyghur nationality.In a word,the iconicity of cognitive linguistics is intended to show the relationship between language and thinking,and language structure reflects experience structure.Such a point of view is different with the view of research of traditional linguistics,and is a relative new and important part in the study of language.Proverbs are an integral part of vocabulary,are ready-made phrases that are used in a fixed way,and are concise and comprehensive short sentences which are summarized by people of different nationalities during the process of long-term production and life.Different nationalities have different cognitions to the objective world on account of different historical cultures,living habits,customs and believes,and that's why they have different expressions and thoughts in proverbs.As such a significant linguistic phenomenon,proverbs have been studied widely for a long time.Among those studies,there have been lots of study results on Chinese proverbs and Uyghur language proverbs.However,as we all known,the study on English and Chinese proverbs from the viewpoint of cognitive linguistics has become the hot topic and has obtained lots of results.While there is short of the study on Chinese proverbs and Uyghur language proverbs from the viewpoint of cognitive linguistics,and there is short of in-depth study of syntactic structure,and the relationship between language structure and external world has been neglected.By using the iconicity theory to make comparison between Chinese proverbs and Uyghur language proverbs,this article tries to elaborates the relationship between language and thinking from a micro perspective,and further elaborates the similarities and differences of syntactic structure between Chinese proverbs and Uyghur language proverbs.This article is mainly divided into seven parts.The first chapter in the article is the preface.It mainly introduces the preparation work of this article and the research achievements of the previous scholars from four aspects: the reasons and foundations for selecting the topic,the purpose and significance of the topic,the status quo of literature research,and the research method.From the second chapter to the sixth chapter in this article compares the iconicity in the syntactic structure of the Uygur-Chinese proverbs with the five principles of iconicity.And then analyzes the use of iconicity in Uygur-Chinese proverbs and the influence of it on the teaching of second language.The seventh chapter in the article is the conclusion chapter.By comparing the iconicity,which is believed that in both Chinese proverb and Uyghur proverb syntactic structure exists,it can be concluded that the iconicity in Uygur-Chinese proverbs syntactic structure states that the form of language can reflects the real world.Although Han and Uygur are two different nation,their understanding of the world is similarly.Grasping the iconicity of the syntactic structure of Uygur-Chinese proverbs also has a positive effect on the learners of second language to understand and learn proverbs.The second chapter to the sixth chapter in the article is the main parts.The comparison of Uygur-Chinese proverbs is not only a very important task,but also has a variety forms of proverbs.Unfortunately,duo the limitations of my level,when I use the iconicity theory for comparison,the content is not so rounded,and I look forward to making the shortcoming up in the future.
