When we compare two things, we mainly compare the dissimilarities to highlight their characteristics. Being a special language form, proverbs contain a lot of culture information, which provide us with a special angle of view for comparison. Since Uigur and Han nationality have different beliefs, history, living environment and language, there are plenty of comparability. In this paper, we try to find the similarities and differences by comparing the language rhythm, rhetorical manner and concept culture of proverbs to discuss their historical and cultural connotations and reveal the characters and concepts of the two nations. Meanwhile, we give theoretic basis for taking the advantages and of the two nations and achieving their common progress, and provide guidance in culture intercommunicating of the two nations.The main content is as following:Introduction. This part briefly introduce the history, language and proverb of Uigur as well as the research meaning of this paper, and the instances and methods of other persons who studied this.Partâ… , Compare the external form of the proverbs. Compare from the phonetic form and rhetorical manner, we find that Uigur proverbs give priority to rhyme and harmoniousness of sound, on the other hand,given the characteristics of Chinese syllables, Chinese proverbs focus on neat rhythms. Rhetorical manners generally share the same characteristics.Partâ…¡, comparison of the content of the proverbs. In this part, we compare the love proverbs, life fate proverbs, personality and communication proverbs, and then discuss the culture connotation in them. Partâ…¢, comparison of symbolic words in proverbs. In this part, the symbolic meaning of numerals and animal words are the main comparing objects. By comparison, we can see that "three" and "ten thousand" are special numbers in Chinese proverbs, while "forty" exists only and peculiarly in Uigur proverbs. It seldom happens that symbolic meaning of animal words are identical exactly, neither do the meanings vary totally. Similarities and dissimilarities often coexist, which extends a complex situation.Partâ…£, Conclusion. By comparing the content, we see that Han nationality is more pessimistic than Uigur nationality in face of the fate. In aspect of communication, Han nationality is introversive, conservative and cautious while Uigur nationality is opening, outright and like to make friends and have parties In the area of love and marriage, Uigurnationality is more enlightened than the Han nationality.Partâ…¡and partâ…¢is the main section of this paper.Since the extensive content of Chinese and Uigur proverbs, it can not be contained in one paper. Due to the limitation of time and the writer's personal ability, it is a pity that further study on this hasn't been done, hoping they can be amended in the future.
