Semantics Comparison Between Vietnamese Proverbs And Chinese Proverbs

Proverbs is crystallized wisdom of the masses over generations, It’s a combination ofproduction experience and social life of the masses, and also an expression of profoundlynational culture between Vietnamese and Chinese. Geographical position and long historyof cultural exchanges of the two countries "Vietname–China" caused Chinese andVietnamese proverbs in the development and formation of itself has influenced each other.Therefore, by comparing and researching Chinese and Vietnamese Proverbs, I hope tohelp people to have more insight into the language and social culture of the two countries"Vietnam–China".The focus of the thesis was conducted to compare the semantics of the Vietnameseand Chinese proverbs, thereby finding out the similarities and differences betweenVietnamese and Chinese proverbs.The thesis consists of4parts. Part1introduces as well as states the object of study,research tasks, research methodology and the main contribution of the thesis.Part2focuses on the meanings of proverbs in which mainly introducing significant review, thesymbolic meaning of proverbs and the relationship between semantic and symbolicimages of Vietnamese proverbs and Chinese proverbs.Part3compares the significance ofChinese proverbs and Vietnamese proverbs, this is the key of the thesis in which theauthor conducted research, semantic reconciliation between Vietnamese proverbs andChinese proverbs from which outlined the similarities and key differences betweenVietnamese proverbs and Chinese proverbs.The last part is the conclusion of the thesis.
