In the Ming Dynasty,Anduo Tibetan area was one of the three areas where the Tibetan population was distributed. It was also a region where the economic and cultural exchanges of multiple nationalities were integrated. It was also an important strategic area for the Ming Dynasty to manage Tibetan areas.Based on the analysis of historical records and previous research results, this paper makes a reasonable estimate of the population size of Anduo Tibetan Area, and then sorts out the population migration and distribution of Anduo Tibetan area in Ming Dynasty. This article first defines the spatial scope and population composition of the Anduo Tibetan area.Taking Ming Jiajing as the time node,it is estimated that there are at least 225,000 military and civilian households in the Anduo Tibetan Health Center. The ethnic population is at least 550,000,and the total population in the area is at least 720,000;it has sorted out the significant population migration phenomenon in the Anduo Tibetan area in the Ming Dynasty. The military immigration in Tibetan areas and the entry of Mongolian tribes into the Anduo Tibetan area in the middle and late Ming period triggered the population migration of the Mongolian and Fan populations; The population in the west of the health center is sparsely populated. The population in the area under the health center is mostly distributed in Xiningwei and Hezhouwei areas suitable for farming and grazing.Natural pastures, natural environment, population mobility and social and economic development are the main factors that affect the population distribution pattern in the Anduo Tibetan area.
