In recent years, some emerging ways of expressing magnitude have become extremely active in our daily lives, especially the expression of subjective quantities, which have various forms and rich meanings, and have received great attention from the linguistic community.Among the many forms of expression, the more active "A to X" structure with an evaluation color for high-volume sense. This structure frequently appears in people's daily oral communication, and has strong productivity. Therefore,we take the "A to X" structure as the research object, analyze its high-quantity meaning and its pragmatic characteristics and discourse functional characteristics in dynamic context from a cognitive perspective, and study the mechanism of the structure and its derived drivers. The first chapter, the introduction, expounds the origin and significance of the research in this article, and sorts out the relevant research status of the academic circle from three aspects. The first is the academic research on the high-quantity /polar-quantity construction, which is mainly the basic understanding of the three major categories of the subjective extreme quantity generation mechanism, the derivative motivation and the subjectivity of expression;the second is the academic community's "V to X" structure The research on the origin of the study;the third is the study of "A to X" by the academic circles. The second chapter,"A to X" construction and its syntactic function. This chapter first defines the "A to X" construction of the high-volume table."A to X" is a schema construction with the characteristics of subjective polar quantity expression. It has the characteristics of meaning integrity, productivity, and context dependence. The meaning of its construction is to deepen the amount of abstraction of the nature of things "A" through the concrete description of "X",so that the entire construction reaches a level of meaning of high or even polarity. At the same time, conveying the speaker's subjective attitude or cognitive style is highly subjective. In addition,as anindependent construction, the syntax functions of "A to X" are more flexible and can serve as components of sentence predicates, attributives, and complements. The third chapter, the meaning of "A to X" construction. This chapter describes the semantic features of the constituent members "A" and "to" of "A to X" and the semantic connotation of "X",and then makes a static analysis of the high-volume meanings of the structure as a whole, and observes the high-volume meanings "A to X"."Relative and absolute quantities.First of all,the "A" in the high-volume sense constructions "A to X" must be a certain attribute of a person or thing. This attribute must have the characteristic of [+ quantity],which can represent a quantitative range with a ductile characteristic..From a micro-level perspective, the high-volume sense constructions "A to X" have a certain subjective selectivity for the adjective "A",that is,"A" is mainly an adjective of changes in perception, psychological state, and emotion that cannot be controlled by human subjective will.Secondly, referring to the [displacement] [direction] [endpoint] semantic characteristics of "to" itself, the"to" in "A to X" shows dynamic and non-dynamic characteristics in specific examples. This characteristic is mainly reflected by the four types of "to" on the synchronic plane. Then,it focuses on the description and analysis of the semantic connotation of "X".The semantics of "X" are mainly divided into atomic and event languages."X"under atomic semantics can be expressed in terms of quantity, time, location, and degree;"X" in event semantics is mainly divided into objective Descriptive and subjective description classes, and subjective description classes can be divided into comparison classes, negation classes, evaluation classes and heteromorphic classes.According to the semantic connotation of "X",the "A to X" construction has not only high-quantity meaning but also polar quantity meaning, and there is also a distinction between relative quantity and absolute quantity. Finally, according to the typicality of the expression of subjective polarity in this construction,we believe that the meaning of the construction of "A to X" is on the continuum of atypically high to typical subjective polarity.Chapter Four, the pragmatic features of the "A to X" construction. In this chapter, the context of "A to X" is used to conduct an external dynamic study of its pragmatic characteristics. From the perspective of pragmatic functional characteristics, the "A to X" construction also expresses subjective evaluation while expressing subjective quantities. In specific discourse discourses,it has the role of controlling discourse emotional semantic expression. The "A to X" constructionmostly appears in the spoken language style with appraisal, which is very subjective and exaggerated.Chapter Five, the recognition of "A to X" construction. This article follows the research method from linguistic phenomenon analysis to theoretical interpretation, combined with categorization theory,to explain the generation mechanism and derived motivation of "A to X".From a cognitive point of view, the development of "A to X" from the ordinary structure that originally changed the movement of things to the height of the surface and then to the extreme of the surface is a dynamic derivation process that is constantly categorized. At the same time, the high-level meaning of the structure is derived from the cross-domain mapping of the final meaning of the objective world to the level of abstraction, which is closely related to the human “attention focus”.Chapter Six,the concluding part is a summary of the research content of this article, and puts forward the shortcomings of the research.
