The Chinese character is tools for writing and recording Chinese, and is the basis for Chinese learners to improve their reading and writing skills.Teaching Chinese characters plays an important role in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language. However,Chinese character teaching at home and abroad is basically focus on the foreign students whose Chinese language proficiency is in the primary stage rather than in the high stage. In addition, compared with other researches on the teaching elements, the researches on teaching Chinese characters are far from enough in both quantity and depth.Considering the above situation, this paper try to compare the difference of writing errors between advanced level Japanese and South Korean Students based on the composition corpus of the advanced Chinese proficiency test(HSK)from Japanese and South Korean Students included in the Beijing language and culture university's BCC modern Chinese corpus to find the characteristics and the regular pattern of writing errors between different grade certificate and this two countries.Under the guidance of Error analysis,Interlanguage Hypothesis,Contrastive Analysis Hypothesis and Elaboration Theory, this study use systematic sampling method to extract 300 HSK test compositions of the Japanese and South Korean students from the BCC corpus according to the three certificate grades of A,B and C,and then sort out, identify, classify, count the Chinese character errors in the corpus sample. This study compares the Chinese character errors of Japanese and South Korean Students on the whole and the certificates of different grades respectively, and find that the Chinese character errors in the compositions at different grades of certificates have their own characteristics and rules. In general, first of all, with the improvement of the certificate level, the number of Chinese character errors gradually decreases.Second, the south Korean students' Chinese level is lower than Japanese students, but the gap is narrowing with the improvement of the certificate level between the two countries.Thirdly, the frequency of mother tongue characters appeared in the compositions of Japanese students is much higher than that of Korean students, especially the subtle differences between Chinese and Japanese characters.Based on the research data and the essay “the pain and joy of learning Chinese” written by Japanese and South Korean students in corpus, this study explores the reasons for the occurrence of Chinese character writing errors of Japanese and South Korean students from the aspects of Chinese characters themselves, mother tongue transfer, learners learning environment. The complexity of Chinese characters is the most important reason for Chinese character errors in Japanese and South Korean students.Negative transfer of mother tongue is the second reason.Based on the characteristics of Chinese character writing errors and the author's Chinese character teaching experience, the author puts forward corresponding Chinese character teaching suggestions in order to promote the development of Chinese character teaching for Japanese and South Korean students and the development of Chinese as a second language teaching.
