This is a report of translation on The Caller(excerpts).The whole novel contains94 chapters,and the translation work is completed by two translators.The detective novel is mainly about: the creepy series of killings are unraveled gradually through three calls made after the murder.With plot ups and downs,the carefully conceived novel is fascinating,strongly logical and interesting.In this translation practice,the translator analyzed the culture-loaded expressions in the novel from the perspective of the cultural context,adopting the domesticating translation and foreignizing translation strategies and the translation method like word-based conversion.According to the information structure theory,the translator analyzed the treatment of two types of information focus in the translation of simple sentences,and the treatment of information flow and thematic progress in complex sentences and dialogues from the novel.In this way,the translator could accurately understand and grasp the communicative intention of the author of the original text so as to preserve the intention through the proper translation strategy.Besides,the translator could also obtain a text with logical coherence and smooth writing by adjusting the word order or following the original syntactic order of the sentence.
