Idioms are a fixed phrase that the people create in life and labor and are widely used in daily communication.They have the characteristics of meaning integrity,semantic double-layer and emotional color.Because China and Indonesia have certain differences in social customs,aesthetic tastes,ways of thinking,and religious beliefs,and the idioms themselves are unique,students can not understand and use them correctly.For the time being,the comparative study between Chinese and Indonesian idioms is still blank.Therefore,we think it is necessary to compare them,analyze their commonalities and differences to help learners to understand the national culture and recognition of China and Indonesia more deeply.Know the commonality and individuality of the way and promote the friendly exchanges between the two countries.This paper takes Chinese and Indonesian idioms as the research object,and uses data statistics method and comparative analysis method to compare and analyze them in detail,and summarizes the commonalities and differences between Chinese and Indonesian idioms.Firstly,on the basis of previous studies,the definition of Chinese and Indonesian idioms is clearly defined,which provides the basis for the selection of idioms below.Secondly,it compares and analyzes the source,structural characteristics,semantic features and syntactic functions of Chinese and Indonesian idioms.Then,according to the metaphor and the metaphor,the similarities and differences between the two idioms are summarized into the following three cases,that is,they are basically the same,not exactly the same,and completely different.The basics are the same,the metaphor and the metaphor are roughly the same;There are two situations in which the metaphor is different and the metaphor is the same and the metaphor is the same and the meaning is different.The difference is completely different in Chinese and Indonesian.Furthermore,a detailed comparative analysis of the idioms related to animal images and human organs in Chinese and Indonesian language is conducted to explore the causes of similarities and differences.Finally,based on the previous research,suggestions are made to better serve Chinese idioms.
