Degree adverbs are widely and frequently used in modern Chinese.Therefore,its importance is unquestionable.But for second language learners,it is also very difficult to use this kind of words properly.This article takes native English speakers of UK?America?Australia as the subjects,checking their results of learning 13 Chinese degree adverbs according to the First Class Vocabulary Listed in Outline of the Graded Vocabulary for HSK,analyzing the bias they have made and accordingly putting forward some teaching suggestions.In the first chapter,the research purpose and significance of this paper are firstly discussed.Then,a comprehensive review on Chinese degree adverb and its research in second language teaching are given.Besides,the research contents,research methodology and corpus origins are also introduced.In the second chapter,An research on noumenon of Chinese degree adverbs is conducted.Specifically,we analyze the features of degree adverbs' syntactic and the characteristics of semantic as well as pragmatic,which aims at figuring out the differences among Chinese degree adverbs.Such efforts will provide a solid foundation for second language learners.In the third chapter,a HSK composition corpus of Peking Language University is used to analyze the results of Chinese degree adverb learners from three English speaking countries.In addition,we also analyze the questionnaires for learners from the Confucius Institute for Scotland's Schools ? the Confucius Institute at the University of Aberdeen,UK and the Tianjin University,therefore obtain the acquisition order of 13 degree adverbs that are often used.In the fourth chapter,a classification on bias of using Chinese degree adverbs is made.Such bias are classified into four categories according to their frequency: “Mistaken,Omission,Misalignment,False addition”.Then,we analyze the causes of bias in the degree adverbs of these four categories,and therefore attain four main reasons,namely "Inter-lingual Transfer--The Negative Transfer of Mother Tongue,Intra-Language Transfer,Related Factors of Teaching and Impacts on Learning strategies".In the fifth chapter,we put forward five teaching strategies to improve the teaching effect of adverbs combined withScottish educational concept,which are "Timely evaluation-Improve teaching quality",“Contrastive teaching-distinguishing the use of words in detail”,"Differential teaching-Meeting learning needs","Interest teaching-infiltration of Chinese culture","Sequential teaching-Follow the law of acquisition."...
