A Practice Report On The Causes And Coping Strategies Of Misinterpreting In Chinese-english Simulated Consecutive Interpreting Of China's Maga Projects 3 From The Perspective Of Effort Models

This practice report in the perspective of effort models selected “Energy Sources” and“Transportation Network" of “China Mega Projects 3”as consecutive interpretation corpus.The causes of mistranslation to put forward the coping strategies were discussed through the analysis of Chinese-English interpretation cases.The cases show that the types of mistranslation mainly include the unclear logical relationship between sentences due to the discrimination of professional terms,the unclear logical relationship between sentences due to the addition of contextual information,and the unclear logical relationship due to the low relevance of digital information.The reasons for the unclear logical relationship between sentences due to the discrimination of professional term mistranslation are the hearing and discrimination of professional terms,and not making information prediction.The reasons of default context information mistranslation are limited by contextual information supplement and incoherent semantic expression.The reasons for the low relevance of digital information mistranslation are limited by number representation understanding and inaccurate number conversion.In order to deal with the limitation of the hearing and discrimination of professional terms and unabled information prediction,there are proposed the syntactic linearity method and information prediction method based on the language generation effort models.Aiming at the limitation of contextual information supplement and incoherent semantic expression,there are proposed information recombination method and native expression method based on coordinated effort models.Noting numbers and measurements and using positional notation based on note-taking effort models are proposed as strategies of limitation of number representation understanding and inaccurate number conversion.The case study and the summary of translation practice show that the effort models have certain explanatory power for the mistranslation analysis of consecutive interpretation and practical value for the selected coping strategies.
