Vocabulary learning plays an essential role in the process of senior high school English learning,and permeates the whole process of English learning.However,students are lack of vocabulary learning strategies,and they learn vocabulary mainly through mechanical memory.This paper attempts to apply the ecological classroom teaching mode into high school English vocabulary teaching,and it aims to improve students' English vocabulary learning performance,and makes a breakthrough in students' vocabulary learning strategies and autonomous learning.Based on educational ecology theory,ecological classroom explores the dynamic balance of classroom from the relationship among students,teachers and classroom environment.Educational ecology also emphasizes that students are the main subjects of classroom,and teachers are the guide,organizer and coordinator of students' learning.It also focuses on the interaction between teachers,students,and harmonious classroom environment.This study aims to answer the following research questions:(1)From the perspective of educational ecology,what are the effects of the ecological classroom teaching mode on high school students' English vocabulary learning strategy?(2)From the perspective of educational ecology,what are the effects of the ecological classroom teaching mode on high school students' English vocabulary learning performance?(3)From the perspective of educational ecology,what are the effects of the ecological classroom teaching mode on high school students' English vocabulary learning autonomy ?100 high school students from Grade two in Dalian City,Liaoning Province,participate in the experiment.Control class and experiment class both have 50 students.The experiment lasts for 16 weeks.The experiment class adopts ecological classroom teaching mode,while the control class uses traditional teaching mode.Research instrument includes questionnaires,pre-test and post-test and interview.SPSS 24.0 software are used to analyze the relevant data from the experiment.The results show that students in the experimental class master more English vocabulary learning strategies,and their vocabulary learning performance has improved significantly after the experiment.In addition,compared with the control class,the ecological classroom teaching mode has a positive effect on students' vocabulary learning autonomy in the experimental class,and students' vocabulary learning autonomy has improved significantly.Therefore,the ecological classroom teaching mode is feasible in senior high school English vocabulary teaching.
