In recent years,“one-to-one teaching” has been more and more popular with Chinese learners,and its development scale is gradually increasing.However,the research on this aspect is obviously insufficient,such as the actual teaching situation,the acquisition situation and the existing problems of one-to-one teaching in the current educational institutions,all need to be investigated and analyzed in depth.In2019,the author worked as a one-to-one part-time teacher of Chinese as a foreign language at the Great Wall Chinese Institution in Shenyang.This paper is based on my teaching practice of American Chinese learners,a detailed investigation of teachers and students in this institution,and an analysis of the problems and causes of the one-to-one teaching.Its significance and value lies in,through the one-to-one teaching investigation of American Chinese learners,reflecting on their shortcomings and problems,exploring the countermeasures to improve the teaching level and optimize the teaching effect,so as to promote the overall research of one-to-one teaching and provide help for the future development of one-to-one teaching.This thesis consists of five parts:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly discusses the background,significance and methods of this thesis,as well as the domestic and foreign research status of one-to-one teaching,which defines the concept of "one-toone teaching ".The second chapter discusses the investigation and analysis of Chinese learners in Shenyang Great Wall Institution,including the basic introduction of this institution,the introduction of American learners and their characteristics,the design of related surveys and interviews,the collation,statistics and analysis of investigation and interview situation,and the basic conclusions derived therefrom.The third chapter points out and discusses the problems existing in the one-to-one teaching of Chinese learners in the United States,that is,the intermittent learning hinders the confidence of learners,the diversified demands increase the burden of lesson preparation,the effectiveness of communicative learning is difficult to achieve,and the acceptability fatigue is caused by the long-term learning.At the same time,some suggestions on one-to-one Chinese teaching are put forward and explained,that is,using various means of supervision to arouse the enthusiasm of learning,through the sharing of teaching materials to improve the knowledge structure,with the help of optimizing teaching links to improve classroomcontrol,using a variety of teaching methods and to maintain teaching enthusiasm and patience.The fourth chapter based on the above questions and suggestions,according to the learning characteristics of American Chinese learners,carries out a teaching design for American one-to-one Chinese learners.The fifth chapter is based on the conclusion of the whole thesis writing.
