Chinese anaphora is an important way of textual cohesion.For native speakers,the use of anaphora is natural,but for Chinese learners,there will be many problems.Due to the differences between Chinese and English,Chinese learners with English as their mother tongue show certain rules and problems in the process of learning anaphora.This paper takes advanced Chinese learners(hereinafter referred to as "Chinese learners")who are native speakers of English as the research object.Aiming at the problem of their use of Chinese anaphora,this paper uses the Chinese text cohesion editor to write 100 articles,including noun anaphora,pronoun anaphora and zero anaphora in 32501 words,Based on the theoretical research results of Chinese textual anaphora and the research results of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,this paper aims to explore the errors and the causes of errors in the process of Chinese learners’ learning anaphora,and then discusses how to improve the application ability of anaphora,and puts forward some operational suggestions for improving the teaching quality of Chinese anaphora.The results show that Chinese learners’ errors of anaphora mainly focus on zero anaphora.The usage rate of the three kinds of anaphora is different from that of native speakers.The usage of noun anaphora is the largest,and the usage of zero anaphora is insufficient.The average continuity of the three kinds of anaphora is consistent with that of native speakers,but generally lower than that of native speakers.Based on the classification and analysis of anaphora errors in the corpus,this paper finds that the reasons for the errors are the differences between English and Chinese,the characteristics of Chinese anaphora,students’ learning strategies and vocabulary,teachers’ guidance and the arrangement of teaching materials.Finally,according to the causes of the problems,this paper puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions,that is,to pay more attention to Chinese anaphora,to enrich the ontology knowledge of Chinese anaphora,to increase the content of anaphora in textbooks,and to summarize the research results and shortcomings in the conclusion.Under the theme of Chinese anaphora ontology research,this paper focuses on the teaching of anaphora,further improves the application of existing research results in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,and has a practical role in guiding the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,improving students’ discourse ability and using Chinese skillfully for communication as soon as possible.In this paper,we try to use the Chinese text cohesion editor to annotate the corpus.In addition,the native speaker corpus is a live writing which is called by the native speaker according to the topic and length of the Chinese learner corpus,which ensures the homogeneity with the Chinese learner corpus.However,the analysis of the corpus is still subjective,the analysis of the causes of errors is not thorough enough,and the error analysis of Chinese anaphora still needs further efforts.
