The Influence Of Family Social-economic Status,Parenting Style And Peer Relationship On Self-esteem

The adolescent stage is an extremely important stage in the development of an individual's life.As one of the important indicators of mental health development,self-esteem has a profound impact on individual development,which has attracted the attention of researchers at home and abroad.The two factors of family environment and daily social environment of adolescents are the core components of the family and school micro-systems that have an important impact on the healthy growth of adolescents.They also have a profound impact on the development of adolescents' self-esteem.In the past,the study of self-esteem factors often began with a single factor or a single aspect,and less studied the interaction process between various factors.Therefore,in addition to exploring the influence of family socioeconomic status,parenting style and peer relationship on the development of adolescents' self-esteem,this study also explores the mediating role of parenting style and peer relationship in family socioeconomic status and adolescent self-esteem.A random cluster sampling method was used in the study.The young people from 11 to 19 years old in the first to third grades of Zhangjiajie,Loudi,Hengyang,Zhangzhou and Changsha in Hunan Province were studied in five schools.A total of 1,200 people were surveyed in each grade.Family socioeconomic status related items,parenting style questionnaire(PBI),peer relationship questionnaire and self-esteem scale were used to examine the social status of parents,parenting style,peer relationship and self-esteem.Afterwards,SPSSS20.0 and Mplus7.0 software were used for data analysis to investigate the influence mechanism of family socioeconomic status,parenting style and peer relationship on adolescents' self-esteem.This study draws the following conclusions:1.There is a certain degree of correlation between adolescents' family socioeconomic status,parenting style,peer relationship and self-esteem.2.Family socioeconomic status,parenting style,and peer relationship have positive predictive effects on adolescent self-esteem.3.Parental parenting style and peer relationship have a mediating role in the process of family socioeconomic status affecting adolescents' self-esteem,and the research data showsthat the mediating effect of mother care in parenting style is more significant.
