Giving gifts by Yan's envoy to Chinese officers is an important part of the Korean peninsula tribute.An in-depth analysis of Yan's envoy “personal gift” can provide a new perspective for studying the history of relations between China and the Korean peninsula.This thesis is divided into three chapters expect introduction and conclusion,which analyzes the “personal gift” of Yan's envoy in the Korean peninsula tributary.In the introduction,the author mainly introduces the significance of the topic selection of the thesis and sorts out of the related research about the topic from a significant book called “Yan Xing Lu” as well as research on topic selection,summarizes the current research and shortcomings on the topic of "personal gift" of ‘Yan envoy' and analyzes the innovations and difficulties of this topic.The first chapter is “the types and items of ‘personal gift'”.The author divides “personal gifts” into four types in this chapter according to the ways and purposes of giving gifts,which are the appreciation gifts,lubricate relationship gifts,Chinese officers ask to buy gifts or ask for gifts,conventional gifts.The appreciation gifts is for appreciating the presents or the helps from Chinese officers.Lubricate relationship gifts are for lubricating relationship in order to get things done and achieving the certain purposes.The officers ask for gifts or ask to buy gifts divided into two parts and one of is the Chinese officers using money to buy gifts.This kind of purchase is actually an unequal trade between Chinese officers and the Yan's envoy.The other is asking for gifts by the Chinese officers,and this shameful behavior are not covered as the buying behavior.Giving conventional gifts is a common behavior,in which Yan's envoy give Chinese officers a series of gifts,and then they are given gifts as usual.The "personal gifts" are divided into five categories according to their names and functions: health medicine,food condiments,clerical tools,knifes and bows,and daily necessities.The second chapter is “the changes of the ‘personal gifts' ” in Ming and Qing dynasty.This part includes that the specific changes of the "personal gifts",the changes of the persons who accept the gifts,the attitudes of the Yan's envoy to the "personal gifts".The “personal gifts” are mainly changing in three aspects: gift types,gift quantities and gift qualities by analyzing specific cases in different periods through “Yan Xing Lu”.In addition,comparing the different number of the officers who accepted the gifts in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,it could be found that the total number of recipients in Qing dynasty is obviously much more than that in Ming dynasty,and Korea peninsula has attached more importance to the "personal gifts" of different periods in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.The attitudes of the Yan's envoy to the "personal gifts",according to the attitudes of Yan's envoy and the dialogues between them and the officers during Ming dynasty on asking for gifts,it is concluded that Yan's envoy attitude towards “personal gifts” getting better during the Qing Dynasty.The third chapter is “the related price accounting of ‘personal gift'”.According to the Korean scholars,Mr.Quan Haizong,a Taiwanese scholar,Mr.Zhang Cunwu,Professor Yang Jun of Jilin University,and Feng Zhengyu,a doctor of economics at Jilin University,the ancient Korean peninsula price list counted by these four people,the unit price of the related articles used in this article is determined by combining the “Jingxi Zhiying Regulations Haixi Branching Regulations”,“Duzhizhiwaipian”and“Miscellaneous Discount”,also collect the data according to the "Yan Xing Lu",select a representative list of gifts from different periods,calculate the total price of all kinds of gifts and the total price of the selected cases,it can be concluded from the four aspects,a class in which the quantity of items is large but the total price is not high,a high proportion of expenditure,the change of the total price in different periods,and the change of the proportion of the major items in the total price.In the conclusion part,this paper analyzes the influence of Yan's envoy “personal gift” on the relations between China and the Korean peninsula from both positive and negative aspects.
