The information age makes people's life and work become faster and faster,and at the same time makes people's speed of receiving information more convenient and fast,and the ways and channels of obtaining information are more diverse.As an important carrier for people to obtain information,advertisements need to make continuous breakthroughs and innovations to arouse the curiosity and attention of the audience.And illustration is a unique form of expression in graphic advertising design,it has a kind of feelings and artistic atmosphere.This kind of feelings and atmosphere can deliver information to the audience more effectively,and it is precisely because of this that illustration can be favored by the public and designers,and it is also widely used in the advertising field.The powerful visual impact of illustration art can not only attract the eyes and convey information at the fastest speed in a certain space,but also follow the development of The Times to meet people's pursuit of beauty.Over thousands of years of deposition and development,illustrations have undergone tremendous development and change.One of the characteristics of illustration design is that illustration designers will add some thoughts and emotions subjectively when drawing and creating.Whether it is the traditional form of hand-drawing or the popular computer graphics,they will have a strong and strong emotional color and personal style of illustrators.Nowadays,illustration forms are constantly enriched and innovated,from traditional hand-drawing to digital illustration,and advertising media from traditional paper publications to modern online digital media,all of which make people's vision constantly broaden and their way of thinking also change.Of course,according to books,newspapers,magazines,packaging and other kinds ofgoods are different in purpose and demand,the style of illustration is also different.Because of the characteristics of The Times,illustration continues to develop and progress with the changes of The Times.Illustration also continuously guides the public's aesthetic orientation and greatly promotes the formation of people's aesthetic ideology.Nowadays,illustration designers can make full use of all kinds of media platforms to draw creative works that are in line with people's love through the new way of painting creation.The meaning of modern illustration design has been different from that of early illustrations.From the past single way of painting creation,it has gradually evolved into a variety of expression languages,a variety of forms of realization,a variety of expression styles and a variety of display methods.This paper mainly through the tracing and understanding of the history of illustration,the development and characteristics of illustration in different historical periods are summarized,the role of illustration in print advertising,its own characteristics and the application in different print advertising are analyzed and summarized.To illustrate the current illustration in print advertising in the form of features,visual expression forms and in different advertising media,the style of illustration design characteristics and different advertising media on the impact of illustration design.Finally,it summarizes the characteristics and differences of different communication media and illustration design,and how to design and create distinctive,artistic and unique works,which can also be appreciated by the audience and receive product information,in line with the current consumer demand and aesthetic appreciation.To provide a broader and adequate space for the future development of illustration design,but also to provide more development ideas.
