Yi Zhou Shu is a book of the nature of documentary compilation. The study of Yi Zhou Shu by the scholars in the past mainly includes several aspects such as the date of writing, the author, the title, and the interpretation of the words. There is very little research on military vocabulary in particular. However, research in this area is of high value for constructing the scientific history of ancient Chinese vocabulary and for digging deeply into the military thought of the Zhou Dynasty. Therefore, this paper selects the military words in Yi Zhou Shu as the research object, conducts comprehensive statistics and classification interpretation, discusses its constitutional rules, reveals its application characteristics, and excavates the military thoughts it reflects. There are 223 military words in Yi Zhou Shu.Among them,103 are military behaviors,49 are weapons and equipment,30 are military and military establishments,14 are tactics,13 are terrains,6 are military formations,5 are military law and rewards, and 3 are war results.Compared with other military books in the pre-Qin dynasty, military behavior words in Yi Zhou shu are obviously dominant, while strategic words are relatively few, which is related to the nature of its literature. The military literature in Yi Zhou Shu mainly records some war-related strategic measures and rarely involves specific tactics.Military vocabulary in Yi Zhou Shu has the following characteristics:1.mainly monosyllabic words.Among the 223 words, there are 165 monophone words, accounting for 74% of all military words.2.The structural forms of military disyllabic words in Yi Zhou Shu can be divided into two categories: phonetic word formation and grammatical word formation. There is only one example of a simple word formed by phonetic word formation, that is,"Qinglu",which is a non-dual-tone superimposed rhyme, which belongs to a foreign phonetic translated word. The number of compound words formed by grammatical word formation accounts for 98% of all multi-syllable words, including four types of partial formal, joint, dominant, declarative, mainly partial and joint;dual-syllable verbs mainly dominate and joint Style. The combination of morphemes within a verb is "verb + verb","verb + noun" and "noun + verb";the combination of morphemes within a two-syllable noun is diverse, including "noun +noun" "noun + verb" "verb + noun" "Adjective + noun" and "numerical + numeral";3.From the perspective of grammatical functions, military words in the Yi Zhou Shu have only two types: nouns and verbs. There were 112 verbs and 111 nouns; There are thirteen military books in Yi Zhou Shu: "Wu Cheng""Yun Wen""Da Wu""Da Ming Wu" "Xiao Ming Wu""Rou Wu""Feng Mou ""Wu Shun""Wu Mu" "Wu Wu""Ke In""Shi Ji" and "Wu Ji",it can be summarized as follows: The purpose of "Wu"is to "help the righteousness";marching wars must pay attention to the timing,"one attack on the sky,two attacks on the ground It is advisable to use three strikes and four ethics for profit ”;follow up the principle of“ pursue without sacrifice, the poor areincompetent, and exhaustion is easy to overcome ”;implement a proactive defensive strategy,“ think in peace,be prepared ”;pay attention to development Agriculture and handicraft industry thus provide economic security for war.Yi Zhou Shu does not yet have the concept of "war is a political act",and it has a relatively simple understanding of the relationship between "wu" and politics.
