Simultaneous Interpreting Strategies For Noises In The Health Science Lecture

As health science is increasingly concerned in China,yoga goes viral.In Harvard University on May 14,2018,Isha Foundation and Harvard Medical School jointly hosted a panel discussion on the theme of “Memory,Consciousness and Coma”.The lecture discussed the changes of patients' consciousness during anesthesia from the perspective of yoga science,and offered a new research aspect to people who are interested in.The author conducted the simultaneous interpreting of the lecture and found that in this kind of professional interpreting practice related to yoga science,anesthesiology and neuroscience,noises may interfere with interpreters' output.Therefore,the author analyzed noise interference from two aspects: linguistic noise and cultural noise.The interpreter adopted interpreting strategies like interpretive approach,amplification and ambiguity to deal with linguistic noise;while transliteration,domestication and addition to deal with cultural noise.The report aims at working out solutions to noises in the corpus of health science and providing references for interpreters through the records,analysis and conclusion on this interpreting practice.
