In order to promote the awakening and revival of Chinese culture and increase the country's cultural soft power, the strategy of "culture going out" has become the only way.Literary works, especially modern and contemporary literary works, are important media for foreign readers to understand Chinese culture. As a contemporary Chinese writer,Yu Hua's works have entered the English-speaking world since 1995.From the plain and deep To Live to the unpolished but tender Chronicle of a Blood Merchant to the incredible and biting The Seventh Day,Yu Hua has always been to devout heart, calm attitude and exquisite brushwork, breaking the daily language specification, build a text world for us which derived from the real world but also independent of real world. When such grotesque texts were introduced into the exotic world by sinologists keen on Chinese literature--Michael Berry,Andrew Jones and Allan Hepburn Barr, they were still highly recommended by mainstream publishers in the context of the market for Chinese books, especially translation books. This is a joint achievement of the author and the translator. The translation is derived from the original work. The translator enters the unfamiliar language system and transforms it into another language system with equal artistic value. In such a process of recreation, the translator should not only try to figure out the intention of the original author, but also consider the conversion between the source language and the target language, the expectation horizon of the target reader and other factors. In addition, the author, the translator and the reader have different historical and cultural backgrounds, which inevitably lead to differences in artistic styles between the English translation and the original.Review the research status of Yu Hua's English translation at home and abroad, most of the research results of domestic researchers are from the perspective of translation strategies, and their research results have guiding significance for English translation teaching.Foreign researchers' research are mostly short comments with strong curiosity, focusing on the real human nature of the bottom society in China. It's rare that conducting detailed research of characters, language, words, basing on the text itself at home and abroad.Against that white space, this article selects the above three novels, adopting comparative research. The first chapter will review the process, the translator, the dissemination and acceptance of English translation of To Live,Chronicle of a Blood Merchant,The Seventh Day and other novels written by Yu Hua.The second chapter makes a comparative study of the character's language and action, the typical environment and the detailed description of the English version and the original. The third chapter explores the adjustment of the English version to the original narrativelanguage through the comparative study of rhetoric skills and effects, the changing sentence pattern collocation and the defamiliarization word collocation. The fourth chapter explores the different artistic styles of the English translation and the original work caused by the use of culture-loaded words through the comparative study of the folk culture-loaded words, the historical culture-loaded words and the allusion culture-loaded words. The fifth chapter discusses the reasons for the differences between the English translation and the original work from three aspects: the differences in historical and cultural backgrounds, the active play of the translator's subjectivity and the expectations of the readers. This paper will explore the spiritual value, artistic value and philosophical value of life contained in the English translation and the original work, and to improve the quality of literary translation and promote the dissemination of contemporary literature abroad to make a modest contribution.
