"Saturationism" is an avant-garde music school that appeared in France in 2006.It was influenced by socalled "subculture styles in pop music" such as punk,rock,heavy metal,free jazz,and even rap,the music style of saturationism was restless.It is currently known to include three representative composers.They are Rapha?l Cendo,Franck Bedrossian,and Yann Robin.This article will use the string quartet "In Vivo" by one of the composers Rapha?l Cendo as an example to explore the basic characteristics of saturationism's music.The introduction will talk about the reason and significance of the topic,and then the first chapter will include the basic definition of the "saturation",the background and related creative ideas of saturationism's music,a brief review and explanation of the relationship between this school and Spectral Music,New Complexity.The analysis of the string quartet "In Vivo" of the representative composer of this genre,Rapha?l Cendo,is in the second chapter of this article.Including several aspects,the design of tone materials,the division of material groups,and the overall structural layout.Then combined with related content to try to focus on the "saturation" state's specific presentation in multiple dimensions of music.Such as tone saturation,rhythm saturation,etc.as well as various "forms of saturation",including "saturation's quality","static saturation" and "dynamic saturation",etc.and make some comparative with related legends.The third chapter will put forward personal thoughts on the aesthetic of the saturationism's music and its future development prospects and limitations.
