Chengdu Tianzhi Cinema Management Co.,Ltd.is the client.The author and the team member completed this translation project together.Direct Your Life,as a biography of an entrepreneur,is "artistic" while conveying the true message.From the perspective of Newmark's text type theory,the original text has the characteristics of both information-functional texts and calling-functional texts.Based on the characteristics and the style of the original text,the author takes Newmark's communicative translation theory as the guide,and explores the problems and translation methods and techniques in the process of translation from vocabulary,sentences and rhetoric.After introducing the general situation of this translation project,the author focuses on analyzing and solving the main problems encountered in the process of translation.At the lexical level,it mainly discusses the translation of titles,proper nouns and four-character expressions.The author uses translation methods,such as literal translation and free translation.In terms of paratactic sentences,sentences without the subject at the sentence level,the author adopts various translation techniques,such as combination,linear translation,reorganization and addition to successfully solve the problems.When dealing with the metaphorical sentences and parallelisms at the rhetoric level,the author uses combination and the comprehensive translation.This report is divided into four chapters,describing the practical process of the translation task of Direct Your Life from four aspects.The first chapter is a description of the translation task.It describes the source,the background,the text introduction,the text analysis,the translation purpose,and the meaning of the translation task.The overall process of the translation project is introduced in detail in the second chapter,including pre-translation preparations,the translation schedule,and post-translation quality control.The third chapter is the key part of this report.In view of different translation difficulties,the author conducts the case analysis under the guidance of Newmark's communicative translation theory,and uses different techniques in an attempt to give reference translations of entrepreneurial biographical texts.Finally,the author summarizes the translation practice,describes the experience and gains of translation practice,also briefly introduces the existing problems and deficiencies,and gives some suggestions for the translation of biographies of entrepreneurs.Through this translation task,the author hopes not only can improve translation ability,but also can provide reference and help for the translation of the same text in the future.
