The report is based on the translation of the public administration text named The Oxford Handbook of Public Policy(Chapters 34 & 36).The text mainly introduces the subject knowledge and development status of public policy.The relevant data existing in China are limited to the development of today's society.The translation of the text is helpful to enrich the theoretical knowledge of related disciplines in China,and it is of practical significance.In the process of this translation practice,the translator finds that words and long sentences containing implicit information are difficult to handle.Therefore,the translation of implicit information is the focus of this report.One is the translation of words with implicit information,including verbs and adjectives,and the methods of extension and free translation are used to solve this problem.The other one is the translation of implicit information.When translating such sentences,the translator adopts the methods of explicitation and sentence reconstruction to manifest the implicit logical relationships in the sentences.Through the translation report,the translator has a deeper understanding of the public administration text and accumulates more experience,hoping the strategies summarized in this report can offer a reference for the future translation activities.
