Practice Report On Consecutive Interpreting Of Singapore Law Society-guangdong Lawyer Association Mission 2018

This paper is a practice report of the legal interpretation between the Singapore Lawyers Society and the Guangdong Lawyer Association.As an interpreter serving for both sides,the author provided Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.Based on the transcription of the interpreting task,the author analyzed the factors affecting the quality of interpretation from the perspective of Schema Theory.The author found that the lack of sophisticated content schema and language schema,i.e.legal background and terminology is the main reason for the interpreter’s difficulties.At the same time,the author selected the corresponding cases for analysis and put forward coping strategies.The paper is divided into five parts: the introduction of interpretation tasks,the description of the process,Schema Theory,case analysis and summary.
