Languages are practiced rather than learned.The exercises in the textbooks are the best way to carry out language training.A moderate amount of effective exercises can help students quickly improve their Chinese ability and level.The author takes the first and second volumes of "New Practical Chinese Textbook",a textbook used by students at the Confucius Institute at the University of Ricardo Parma,Peru,as the research object.Counting the recurrence rates of vocabulary and grammar in the practice of "Reading and Retelling" in "New Practical Chinese Textbook",the length of it,and the types of topics in it.The current rate,the length of the text,the type of topic and the syllabus,found that the writing of vocabulary and grammar in the exercise "Reading and Retelling" in the first volume of the "New Practical Chinese Textbook" complies with the principles of pertinence,practicality,and scientificity;The length design is in line with the principles of pertinence and science;the topic is set to the daily needs of the students,and the students are more interested,in line with the principles of practicality and fun of practice writing.The writing of vocabulary and grammar points in the second volume of the exercise "Reading and Retelling" does not conform to the targeted and scientific principles of practice writing;the topic types are gradually unfamiliar,and it is difficult for students to repeat them,which has a poor effect on cultivating students' ability to express in paragraphs.Interviewing and observing teachers' feedback on the use of vocabulary,grammar points,text length,text topic type and practice form feedback in the practice of "Reading and Retelling" in the New Practical Chinese Textbook,and found the content arrangement of the first book "Reading and Retelling" It is targeted and scientific;it helps students achieve the accumulation of vocabulary and grammar during reading training at the primary stage.The second book,"Reading and Retelling," lacks practice in vocabulary and grammar,lacks understanding of related topic types,and the text is too long,which makes it difficult to understand the exercise.Through the analysis of the effects of students 'exercises and self-experience through student tests and questionnaires,it was found that the effects of students' exercises are good because they fully understand the vocabulary,grammar,and topic types,and the text is moderate;the effects are not good because of the vocabulary,grammar,Unfamiliar topic types and lengthy texts make it difficult for students to understand.Combining with the textbook exercises themselves,and the feedback from teachers and students after using the exercises,the author proposes specific amendments to these issues.It is hoped that the author's suggestions will improve the effectiveness of the exercise and improve students' reading ability and expression ability.
