As a special language unit,chunks exist in all kinds of languages,which are characterized by wholeness,prefabrication,fixity of semantic grammar and pragmatic function and widely used in daily communication.When the theory of chunks was first introduced into China,it was widely used in the field of foreign language teaching.In recent years,the theory of chunks has gradually attracted the attention of scholars and experts in the field of Chinese as a foreign language.The author found that the chunk teaching method is very practical in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,therefore,this paper uses the method of quantitative statistics and interview to study the teaching practice of chunk teaching method in overseas Chinese class,and puts forward some suggestions on chunk teaching,it is hoped that it can be used for reference in the teaching practice of chunk teaching in the elementary comprehensive course of TCSL.This paper consists of five chapters:In the first chapter,based on the achievements of the scholars,this paper discusses the criteria for the selection of Chinese chunks and the classification of chunks,and briefly introduces the purpose,significance,contents and methods of the study.The second chapter explains the basic teaching principles and teaching methods for different types of chunks in order to guide the teaching practice.The third chapter is the key part of this paper.Based on the experience of teaching practice in overseas environment,the author makes a statistical analysis of the chunks in the textbook “Integrated Chinese”(3 textbook),and in the concrete language chunk teaching practice process uses the language chunk teaching method.In the last chapter,the conclusion summarizes the research results of this paper and points out the improvement and future research direction.
