Quality Control Management In A Web Novel Translation Project

With the continuous development of the global internet,China's web novels are gradually marching to the world,attracting a large number of readers in foreign e-fiction markets.Under this background,China has seen English versions of Chinese web novels trying to keep pace with the rapid development of the Internet market.Web novels have shown distinct characteristics such as fast updating,great popularity,and the demand for profits.As single translators are hard to meet the needs of overseas readers from e-fiction platforms,Chinese web novels require large-scale and well-managed collaborative translation projects involving multiple participators.Therefore,scientific and reasonable translation project management may play an important role in driving Chinese e-fictions to go global.In this project,the author's main position was a translator,but the working content far exceeded the scope of translation in actual practice.The author has learned not only how to translate a web novel,but also how to manage a team.This report mainly introduces quality control before,during and after translation.Main steps include task assignments,style guide learning,project planning and so on.In conclusion,the author concludes the problems occurred in team organization,communication and text translation.By proposing effective solutions and contributive thoughts,the report hopes to shed a light for future translators dedicated to translation project and localization.
