Wine tourism represents a combination of wine industry and tourism, and the management and marketing of wine tourism business work to promote the development of the industry.Over the past decade, the wine tourism has been increasing in volume and importance all over the world, especially around Europe,US and South Africa, while in China it has just emerged and sees a promising future.Translating a book on wine tourism into Chinese will be of academic and practical significance in developing this industry. This thesis is a report on English-Chinese translation practice of the book Management and Marketing of Wine Tourism Business: Theory,Practice, and Cases.Given that the target readers of the book are researchers and practitioners in the wine tourism industry,I decided to choose the Skopos theory as my translating theoretical framework, and the three rules in particular: the Skopos rule, the coherence rule and the fidelity rule.As guiding principles, they help us to use different translation strategies and methods at will.To explain how the translator worked under the guidance of the rules, many examples are listed, with the source text(ST),target text(TT),and analysis remarks provided. Some specific translation strategies and methods like literal translation, free translation, annotation, amplification, division and so on are employed.Otherwise, analyzing textually, syntactically and lexically,I have found that the Skopos rule and the coherent rule work the best in guiding us to analyze this translation project and the text, and determining the general style of the translated text.Syntactically, the coherence has the most applications due the huge syntactical difference important applications, and the fidelity rule works well in making sure we work in a meticulous and professional manner.
