A Study On The Historical Characters Pictures In The Tomb Of The Wei, Jin And Southern And Northern Dynasties

The historical characters pictures of tombs bear the imprint of the times,Although its proportion in the tomb is not heavy during Wei,Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties,but it has distinct characteristics of the times,and the change of the story content in the picture reflects the trend of social thought.The historical characters pictures in the tomb in this period is the inheritance and development of the Han Dynasty.Firstly,from archaeological data,I find that due to the change of times,this type of pictures has gone through the process of marginalizing the Wei and Jin dynasties and returning to the central region of the Northern and Southern dynasties.Secondly,I confirm the contents of the pictures in the tomb with the ancient literature,and divide it into three types: Confucianism,metaphysics and Taoism.It is obviously richer than the same type pictures in Han Dynasty.I thought that the emergence of many types of the historical characters pictures in this period is closely related to the burst of various ideas,and also the embodiment of the coexistence and countervailing of multiple regimes.Thirdly,I based on the classification of images,from three aspects of Confucianism's decline and selective return,the gap between scholars and metaphysical figures,and the rise of immortality in turbulent times to explore the social concept reflected in the historical characters pictures.I point out that with the perfection of Taoist theory system and the flourishing of Buddhism,Confucianism and metaphysical culture are transformed into religious culture in the tomb.The historical characters pictures has many functions,such as aesthetic function,artistic function and social education function.Therefore,through the discussion and analysis of the social education function of the historical characters pictures in the tomb room of Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties,we can see the change of the social trend of thought in this period.
