There are now 541 Confucius Institutes and 1,170 Confucius Classrooms in 162 countries(regions)around the world.The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna,as the first Confucius Institute in Austria,also serves as one of the 15 "pilots of cultural Confucius Institute" has developed rapidly in recent years and has achieved relatively high achievements,especially the creation of special activities with the theme of "Music".Based on the one-year internship experience at the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna,the author collected various materials,took the students of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna as the survey object,and took the Lasswell "5W" model of communication as the theoretical basis.The effect of cultural activities of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna is examined in five aspects:organizers,content,media,audience and effects.Study the significance of distinctive cultural activities to the development of Confucius Institutes,and put forward corresponding suggestions for the problems in the cultural activities of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna.Questionnaires and case analysis show that cultural activities under the concept of "pilot of cultural Confucius Institute" have the characteristics of focusing on cooperation with local organizations,integrating the content of activities with local culture,and actively developing local mainstream media.They have received good results.The influence has promoted the rapid development of the Confucius Institute.This article is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,introducing the background and significance of the topic,literature review,theoretical basis and research methods.The second part introduces the general situation of cultural promotion of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna,including the overall development of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna and the development of cultural activities.The third part analyzes the cultural activities of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna using questionnaires and interviews,based on Lasswell's "5W" theory.The fourth part uses the case analysis method and the "5W"model to compare the different effects of "cultural pilot" activities and non-"cultural pilot" activities,and analyze the successful experience and shortcomings of the cultural activities of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna.The last is the conclusion,summarizing the full text,making suggestions and pointing out the deficiencies of this paper.
