As time goes by,cultural exchanges between countries are becoming more and more frequent.Translators play an important role in the process of cultural exchanges for people around the world learn about different cultures via reading translation works,which facilitates further exchanges and cooperation among countries.However,the author noticed that written Chinese used in the translation works of culture texts are Europeanized.Taking the English-Chinese translation of “A Comparative Course on Chinese and Western Cultures” as an example,the author analyzed the causes and influences of the “Europeanization of modern written Chinese” in the English-Chinese translated culture texts,and purposed solutions.In order to eliminate the Europeanization of modern written Chinese,translators should choose to omit the sentence elements which are necessary in English but unnecessary and redundant in Chinese,choose appropriate Chinese words to translate frequently used English words according to the context,and try to avoid using universal meanings listed in the English-Chinese dictionaries.Translators should fully understand the meaning of English phrases and describe the meaning in Chinese in a narrative way,pay attention to the deep cultural meanings of the English words and choose appropriate Chinese words to translate.What's more,translators should not always follow the structure of English sentences,they should rewrite the sentences in Chinese with Chinese grammar after grasping the deep meaning of the English sentences and omit the unnecessary connectives in the Chinese translation works and connect the Chinese sentences according to Chinese grammar.
