The feature of interpreting determines that interpreters often make errors, have hesitations, pauses, repetitions and other phenomena during delivery of information and speech.Therefore,self-correction is quite necessary. In the field of interpretation research,self-correction refers to the behavior of translators who monitor their speech output, find out suspected errors and do self-repairs.When reviewing the Russian-Chinese consecutive interpretation on the topic of 2019 St.Petersburg International Economic Forum mock conference, the author found that the self-correction phenomenon is quite prominent.Although some mistakes have been self-repaired acceptably, most of the self-repairs have not been successful, and some are excessive. These improper self-repairs reduce the fluency of interpretation, interrupt the transmission of information, result in time-delays during interpretation and affect the audience's evaluation of the interpreter's performance. Therefore author focuses on analyzing phenomenon of inappropriate self-repairs in study and aims to propose relevant coping strategies.
