A Narrative Study Of Indian Realistic Movies In The New Century

Since the birth of Indian film,it has been more than 100 years.Years of development has laid a strong industrial foundation and a stable local market.At the end of last century,the Indian film market showed a tendency of decline which influenced by many reasons,.In order to defend the local market,explore the international market and break the development bottleneck of the film industry,India has launched a series of "new concept Indian films" with brand-new production concepts and international photography methods.The Indian films of the new century have been widely paid attention to by people both at home and abroad on their release,the most popular of which are realistic films.This kind of movie focuses more on its emotional interaction with the audience and the value reflected in the relationship,it conveys values through narratives,and moves people's hearts using these values.After more than ten years of development,realistic films in the new century have stood firmly in the international film industry with profound themes,unique styles and exquisite scenes.This paper carries out the discussion from the following perspectives.The first part is the brief introduction of this paper,which points out the research object,current research state and research methods.The second part focuses on the evolution of narratives of Indian realistic films in the new century,sorts out the changes of Indian realistic films in the new century by combining the data of the film industry,the changes in film styles and the innovation of film topic selection.Simultaneously,this paper explores the social context of the development of the Indian film industry in the new century,namely,the development of national science and technology,the improvement of related legal systems and the prosperity of the film industry.The third part analyzes the narrative strategies of Indian realistic films in the new century from the perspectives of structure,focus and space of the narrative.In terms of the narrative structure,the linear structure highlights the emotions of characters and explores the hidden themes of the film based on this structure.With regard to narrative focus,the choice of multiple narrative perspectives enriches the information of the film and guidesthe characters' emotions;the narrative from the perspectives of small people at the bottom of society enhances the audience's feeling of getting into the film.As far narrative space,images are usually expressed in different spaces in Indian realistic films in the new century.The fourth part elaborates on the content of Indian realistic films in the new century.Furthermore,this paper explores the themes of Indian realistic films in the new century by combining the reflection of the work on the rise of female consciousness in a patriarchal society,education issues of multiple dimensions and the struggling expressions of the people at the bottom of society.Simultaneously,the connotation of the narration of Indian realistic film based on national culture is explored.The fifth part mainly illustrates the narrative style of Indian realistic films in the new century.National cultural symbols make the film more appealing and recognizable;the use of long and fixed lenses shows the social and objective characteristic of the space;the combination of light and color plays a strong metaphoric role;and the atmosphere of the film was adjusted by the absurd "India" humor,which tells profound themes in a playful tone.
