The rapid development of China‘s foreign aid training programs of various kinds in recent years has stimulated the demand for related class interpreters. From September 3 to 23,2019,the reporter worked as a class interpreter in the Seminar on Youth Entrepreneurship for Developing Countries undertaken by the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province.During the 21-day class interpreting project, the reporter encountered three major issues and difficulties: slow response to topic shift;problems with note-taking;language barriers involving loose interpretation of idioms and misinterpretation of technical terms.Based on an analysis of and reflections upon her experience in the project as well as on literature review, the reporter puts forward the following solutions in this paper: first, develop quick response to topic shift by improving the ability to cope with contingency and focusing on the main point;second, balance note-taking and short-term memory by developing multitasking ability as well as metacognitive strategy;third, break down language barriers by means of deverbalizing the source speeches and enhancing the preparation and interpreting experience.Drawing upon a real project, this report is expected to serve as a reference for interpreting practice and study related to foreign aid training, especially the entrepreneurship training programs.
