| Since the beginning of Durkheim,sociology has already begun to pay attention to the impact of social support on the individual's physical and mental health.As a global power,aging has begun to deeply affect the countries in the world,the proportion of the elderly population is growing,and the elderly become a unique group.Because of the aging of its body and the characteristics of the disease,the quality of life of the aged people,especially the health,has caused the attention of the society.Activities of daily living is one of the most commonly used indicators of measuring the elderly health,mainly reflect the functional status of the body,and the loss of their ability to care for daily life is considered to be the main health problems of the elderly.In China under the condition of the social security system is not sound,from a family of intergenerational support for sustaining the health of the elderly is of special significance.In this study,the use of "China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study" in 2012 in Gansu,Zhejiang two provinces trace data,children,grandchildren and the old man economic support and emotional support as independent variables,such as gender,age,as control variables,PSM and IADL as the dependent variable,using the two variables Logistic regression analysis method,discusses the effect of intergenerational support on the Physical Self-maintenance and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living of the elderly,to verify "The main effect model" and "use it or lose it" the applicability of the theory in explaining the Chinese problem.Results show that the children do not live together with their parents between the old man and the more frequently the emotional support,especially to meet the higher the frequency,the more conducive to maintaining and development of the elderly's activities of daily living."The main effect model" has been partially verified and the theory of "use it or lose it" has not been confirmed. |
