The following investigation is based on a qualitative research that intends to explore the Chinese immigration to Italy.The first part regards the historical perspective which leads to explore the reasons of the Chinese diaspora to Italy,its first geographical collocation and its spread throughout the country until today,in order to highlight the areas of major concentration of the Chinese communities.The second chapter goes through theoretical framework on which my thesis is founded,following then with the statement of the problem which includes a statistical perspective of the presences of Chinese nationals in Italy divided by age,geographical area,gender,aim of the staying in the country.This section is successively followed with the definition of the scope,delimitation and methodology of the study.The third chapter discusses the cultural and social integration of the Chinese communities located in the Marche region,in the center of Italy.It emphases the developing process of the Chinese presence in the area highlighting the differences of the three generational groups:first generation,second generation and third generation;each one of them will be discussed under an objective point of view collected during the research on the field.The second part of the third chapter focuses on the major challenges and difficulties which obstacle the cross-cultural adaptation.An important role is also played by the Sino-Italian cultural organizations and institutions located in Italy,they appear to be a valuable connection between the two dissimilar cultures and they improve the reputation of the Chinese culture and society under the eyes of Italians while making the integration process easier.The fourth and last chapter is about the development of the Sino-Italian relations under the numerous cultural exchanges on a national level and on regional level and how these projects have an advantageous impact on the international affairs.Further on,to highlight the fact that the existing relations are mutual beneficial and sustainable,I will finally discuss both countries' visa policies and their future perspectives,including the role played by cultural institutions in such matter.
