On Lukacs's Understanding Of Leninism

Lukacs and Lenin both were revolutionaries of the same era,and their personal experiences were intertwined.As a descendant of the revolutions and theories,Lukacs has always take Lenin as his spiritual mentor and he was trying hard to follow Lenin's footsteps in theory and practice all the time.It is inconsistent with the stereotype that Lukacs is the founder of Western Marxism,he is opposed to orthodox Marxist theory.In order to make Lukacs' theory and thoughts more accurately and clearly.And meanwhile to understand Leninism's connotation in a more comprehensive way,this article aims to study Lukacs'understanding of Leninism.There are popularly two main dimensions for Lukacs' studies,one dimension focus on analyzing his own philosophical system,the other focus on his statue on Western Marxism theory circle.Seldom researchers put their attentions on Lukacs personal experiences,especially of communist movement,which probably make a great difference for his philosophical theory.Not to mention that the relations between Lukacs and Lenin and Lukacs personal attitude to Lenin.As a matter of fact,it is very necessary to put them together to study,because Lukacs and Lenin are two monuments in the history of international communist movement and the theoretical circle of Marxism.The line of this paper is as follow.Firstly,we have inspected the historical details of both of Lukacs and Lenin,including their revolutionary and study experiences.In this way,we will find that they have many experiences in common.For example,on one hand they all have seen the growth of their motherland,they all have tasted the bitterness of the revolution fail,they all were exiled for their loss,they all participated in the construction of new socialist motherland.In the meaning of this,we could say that Lukacs and Lenin are in the same camp.On the other hand,the number of the Marxist classics that they could learn from are the same.There is no possible that Lukacs or Lenin will read something new that the other didn't know about the Marxist classics.Also,both of them learned a lot from Hegel.From above all,we can infer that Lukacs have fully accessible to Lenin's theory and have no difficult to understand them.After examing Lukacs's life experience and his dialog,we find that Lukacs has always reverenced Lenin for his great achievement on both phycology and revolutionary.Lukacs tried to come up with Lenin's foot step all the time.We can find most of the idea about Lukacs's understand of Lenin in his book Lenin written in 1924.In this book,Lukacs take his own theory the totality as the start point to analysis Lenin's theory,he believes that Lenin's idea shares the same key point with his totality idea.Both Lenin and his theory were the performance of Marxism It was because this kind of totality view of sociality,can Lenin has made a great difference to proletariat party's organization constructions and the world proletariat revolutions What interesting is that with the analysis of Lenin,Lukacs penetrate his own thoughts such as totality theory and materialization idea into his understanding of Leninism,which makes the writing shows a very different scenes.This result gives us an alternative view of Leninism and helps us to understanding Lukacs thoughts more profoundly.There are two main aspects that Lukacs showed his view on Leninism.Firstly,Lukacs made a profound idea that Leninism is not a dogmatic.Anyone who treat Lenin's words as absolute truth will make mistakes.It is necessary to prevent the rigid interpretation of Lenin's thought.This claim is very prescient.Secondly,by doing this work,Lukacs teased his theoretical system.Lukacs take his own idea such as his totality,his class consciousness theory,his view on materialization phenomenon,and his proletariat theory into Lenin's theory,and revised his idea.It is found that after finishing the Lenin,Lukacs's materialism has greatly reinforced.He has made himself take a big step toward Lenin.This paper tried to analysis some shortage of Lukacs's view of Leninism.There is no denying that compared with Lenin's own thought,Lukacs's understandings are not perfect.This phenomenon explains that Lukacs's Marxism theory is not so mature in some degree.His understanding of the nature of the class is not yet mature.The class consciousness is also composed of idealism.His shortage in personal experiences and materialism theoretical basis becomes the biggest barrier to fully understand Lenin's theory.There are three innovations in this paper.The first is about perspective.Lukacs is a great Marxist theorist who was born in the same era with Lenin.Their relations and theories are closer than we imagine.But in the past days,very few researchers used to put them together.The second is about reference resources.Most of Lukacs studies were based on his famous writing.Such as The History and Class Consciousness,The Young Hegel,and The Ontology of Social Existence.Very little researchers have noticed that nonfamous book Lenin:A Study On the Unity of His Thought,and some volume of his talking record,autobiography.Compared with those former books,these materials contains many Lukacs internal thoughts.We believe these clues will lead us go into his soul.The third is about the research conclusion.Based on the former two points,this paper draws a innovations conclusion compared with those former research.In the mainstream,Lukacs was known as the founder of the western Marxism,and his theories had been set on the other side of orthodox Marxism,which Lenin was the representative.After systematically analysis,we believe the fact is not as this.Lukacs had always tried his best to get close to Lenin's theories.We hope this paper may provide a new view angle to analysis Lukacs attitude to Leninism,and provide ourselves a different attitude to understand Leninism,and share a special train of thought for Marxism classics studying.
