Geological exploration,which plays a significant role in national economic and technological development,is an investigation on mineral resources in certain region.In general,geological exploration is the fundamental and public work in the area of economic construction.Performance management is the core of human resource management,which aims to create a working environment in which employer and employee can perform their best.Along with the continuous development of national economic system,the existing management system of geological exploration institution is not able to keep up with the rapid pace of reformation,therefore,state-owned geological exploration institution started commercializing reform in 1980s.In the first decade of the new century,commercializing reform simulates the development of geological exploration institution a lot,however,in the process of reform,geological exploration institution ignores the importance of human resource management reform,especially ignores the issues of performance management,such as the lack of performance management cognition,unreasonable performance assessment,as well as low employee participation,which results in the outflow of talent brain-drain and the recession of geological exploration institution.Starting from the current situation of performance management in geological exploration institution,the study in going to introduce the process of geological exploration institution reform,the theory of performance management,and the knowledge of performance assessment?In this paper,a state-owned geological exploration institution-Metallurgical Geological Exploration Institution is selected as a representative institution.Through questionnaire analysis,the paper is going to sum up the status of performance management reform,identify specific issues,as well as put forward constructive suggestion.By researching the performance management of performance management in geological exploration institution under the background of commercializing reformation,this paper analyzes the problems existing in the performance management reform and puts forward the measures to improvement,which has certain innovation in practice.Hopefully,by adopting those constructive suggestion,geological exploration institution is able to establish a complete system of performance management,improve the working method of human resource management,and promote the development of geological exploration institution finally.
